Witton Albion vs 1874 Northwich (Mid Cheshire District FA Senior Cup Semi Final)

Witton Albion are back on home ground for the first time since February 1 as we host neighbours 1874 Northwich to Wincham Park for a Mid-Cheshire District FA Senior Cup semi-final on Tuesday evening.

After a prolonged period without playing, Albion returned to action last Saturday at Morpeth Town.

Despite a good display, we were on the wrong side of a 3-2 scoreline, so Carl Macauley’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways.

Strikers Will Jones and Rob Hopley are out for this season so will continue to miss out while full-back James Short missed the trip to the North East last weekend through illness and remains a doubt.

Our visitors are enjoying an excellent season in the North West Counties Premier Division, sitting top of the table seven points clear of second placed Rylands with two games in hand.

They’ve only lost twice in the league all season, so confidence will be high. They also got the better of Albion in a penalty shootout in the Cheshire Senior Cup earlier this season following a 2-2 draw.

Kick-off at Wincham Park is at 7:45pm.
