Witton welcome bottom club Ashton United on Tuesday night in a Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture following an excellent victory at Whitby Town on Saturday.
Ten points from their last five league games have propelled Albion to a better position in the table, and they have the chance to improve on that against a team without a win in six away league games but they need to earn anything they get.
Ashton’s latest outing saw them grab a late goal to earn a point at the weekend in a 1-1 draw at Gainsborough Trinity so, they will be looking to get something from the game.
Witton have picked up in recent games and it’s no coincidence, that the improvement has come at a time when the management team are able to call on the majority of their injured players returning to the fold and the form of Callum Saunders has added to that.
Ashton will pose a different kind of challenge for Witton and will not be underestimated by any means as they look to climb out of trouble.
Two faces familiar to some Albion fans could feature in the Ashton line-up, with midfielder Michael Brewster and striker Tom Bentham both having brief spells with us in the past.
Kick off at The U Lock It Stadium is 7.45pm.
