Witton Albion vs Atherton Collieries.

Seventh-placed Atherton Collieries provide Witton with their latest challenge when they arrive at Wincham Park in a Northern Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon.

Albion look to make it four wins in a row and five out of the last six games, but Atherton have also hit form as their latest victory in midweek - a 5-0 home success against Bamber Bridge shows.

A Witton win potentially takes them back into second place depending on other team’s results, having dropped to fourth in midweek due to other games and also our inactivity due to the scheduled fixture at Hyde United being postponed due to Covid.

On the other hand, a victory for the visitors would take them above Albion in the table so, the game is crucial to both sides and will be a tough one to call.

One familiar face who won’t be lining up against us on Saturday is former Witton striker Kyle Sambor, who has surprisingly moved on to Widnes at a time when he was showing good form with Collieries but, we will still have other players to be aware of so this won’t be an easy test.

Witton will be confident of continuing their recent run but anything they get from the game will have to be earned.

Kick Off at Wincham Park is 3pm.
