Witton Albion vs Bamber Bridge.

Witton return to league action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome high-flying Bamber Bridge in a Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture.

The Preston-based club currently sit in fourth place following a strong start to the season where they have managed seven wins out of nine on their travels, aided by the goalscoring of Ewan Bange and Robert Apter who have amassed seventeen league goals between them so far this season.

The goalscoring mantle now has to be passed on to others following Bange’s return to his parent club Blackpool following his successful loan spell.

Witton’s players got some valuable minutes in midweek in their friendly at Bootle FC and came away with a 3-1 win courtesy of two James Foley spot-kicks and a goal from on loan midfielder Nathan Okome which will have been of huge benefit to the team after last weekend’s inactivity.

Ahead of the game, Albion have added former Liverpool Academy defender Josh Agbozo from Chorley to the squad, as well as extending fellow defender Will Sutton’s loan from Oldham Athletic for a further month following his excellent performances for the team.

Leading goalscorer and Witton’s “Player of the Month” Callum Saunders stands on the verge of club history, as a goal will see him become the first player in Witton history to score in nine successive league games. Some achievement there and he’s been amazing what ever happens.

Another tough game faces Witton tomorrow as Bamber Bridge boss Jamie Milligan has them playing well but, Witton need to focus on what we do and hopefully we can climb the table with the right result.

Kick off at The U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.

Looking forward to what should be another tough test BB are in good form!
Team-wise not sure of availability but guess it will be something like this:

Hall
Baldwin, Sutton, Wardle, Agbozo
Jebrin, Lingouba, Okome, Foley
Jones, Saunders

Not exactly what I’d pick but be interesting to see the line up and how we play. UTA

A tough game C.J., but on our day we’re good enough. 2 changes for me in your team would be Hopley for Jones & Lawrie for Jebrin, Lawrie purely because he links up well with Callum Saunders.

My team would have Rob Hopley in (was trying to predict Carl’s team). I’m not sure about Lawrie yet, Jebrin is more of a threat but I can see why Lawrie might be more solid in a 4 4 2, maybe though we go 5 3 2 with Agbozo playing as a third centre back we will know soon enough. UTA
