Beautiful day, great away support, nice beer, absolutely shambolic defending. The less said the better. Its a good job Stamford lost because on this showing we’ll get nothing at Ashton and will have to hope we can somehow get a draw next Saturday. Thank god the goalkeeper is suspended for Tuesday.
If it was up to me the keeper would never play for the club again. As well as being a terrible time-waster, he’s made stupid errors like today before.
Can you believe he is supposed to be the goalkeeping coach ? The managements judgement of players is seriously flawed.
That’s probably one reason why we’ve had so many keepers this season.
Announcement on Twitter that Andy Robertson has left the club.
Thanks for the memories Andy.
Still struggling to find words that best describe what I have just witnessed. Probably embarrassing fits best. Players let fans and manager down today with exception of Jon Dawson. Managers cannot legislate for schoolboy errors especially when there are three in one half of a game. I fear we are down now and am personally glad that the season is nearing its end as I am fed up of feeling like this on a Saturday evening.
Ashton need to beat us to guarantee a play off spot. Stamford need to beat us to stay up. Marine could still finish above us on goal difference. We are in big trouble now.
It’s looking bad after the dust settles tonight, but this isn’t a result of one mistake from Robertson or gifting silly goals, it’s simply that we have a squad which isn’t strong enough for this league certain players are out of their depths, we have had ample time to turn this around and although some will say we aren’t conceding 5 every week like the beginning of the season, it’s still been awful all season in my opinion. Is it financial reasons? Or is it something else?
I am just gutted to say the least
We still have hope because if we have our collective team head on we can be competitive which we have shown before, so I think just one good performance dig out a point and we might survive, remembering that one of our level relegation teams will be spared and currently we have the better point per game ration but we need to be 4th bottom or better obviously, but the board cannot let this relegation battle happen again next season surely things need to change !
Also Marine might catch us for 4th bottom on goal difference but they have one game left and need to win it, and its away at Blythe Spartans so a big ask for them !
Whilst I admire your optimism CJ having to rely on other teams getting beat or not going down by default is not good enough for this football club. We were not much better last season and were also looking like we might go down at one point then too. There are clubs above us in our league and even in the league above that can only dream of the following, volunteers and facilities that we have. We are again punching below our weight and I’m not surprised people are fed up with it.

So that’s what Robertson thought of Witton Albion
I think that its really sad that after some monumental cock ups that have cost us dearly, the keeper should turn on the fans as though his ineptitude is my fault.
I appreciate that we all make mistakes, but after making mistakes, some of us use our wit and play safe for a while…
He may not care this weekend, but some of us have supported this club through thick, thin and now gossamer for over 50 years and this club means as much as to us Chelsea to their fans. We are gutted and that’s why his rubbish performance and schoolboy errors hurt so much and hence the fans response !!
If he doesn’t hurt, then he doesn’t deserve our support only their derision
Have to say I thought Andy was really consistent. He was disliked by opposition fans as well as Wittoners.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. He’ll probably end up signing for skem.
I actually thought Andy was excellent for us until the last couple of weeks and I remember someone telling me during his first appearance that he was the goalkeeping coach and didn’t want to actually play anyway! Never understood why he seemed to be more interested in playing the pantomime villain than a goalkeeper when he did play though!
Paul S don’t think for one minute I’m happy where we are ! But staying up is vital to us financially, if I was in charge it would have changed some time ago, fans are deserting in droves something positive will have to be done to entice them back.
