Witton Albion vs Blyth Spartans

I don’t, and I haven’t said anything of the sort. All I am saying is that we should not be in the position we are, we are in a complete mess and it is simply not good enough. We should be looking upwards not downwards (again).

Completely agree with you Paul

Thank god that clown of a goalkeeper Robertson has gone. We were cruising at 1-0 until he did his usual trick and gifted Blyth a goal. How anyone can say he is a good keeper is beyond me. Just look at the number of points we have lost through his calamitous mistakes. Now Porter can at last get a chance to play.
By the way it was an absolutely dire display after Robertson’s howler, all the fight seemed to drain from the players, and this is something that cannot be tolerated. The manager has to do something, but i don’t think he can, he is outy of his depth and if he stays with us next season i fear for Witton’s future. So come on Sully it’s time to go.

Yes he’s been a liability the last few games but I could reel off 3 or 4 games where Robertson has won us points almost single handily (Buxton and Skem at home spring immediately to mind). Had we not picked up those points up we would have been down a few weeks ago, not hanging on by the skin of our teeth with the slight chance of a great escape. I’m glad he’s gone too though, hopefully a lad that actually wants a chance will now get one.

I know he was only here as a goalkeeping coach but in my opinion, we should never have let Dave Andrew go. The problems we’ve had this season with goalkeepers is very evident and yes, I know you can’t do anything about injuries but we’ve had heaven knows how many keepers this season including two coaches who ended up having to play.

I agree Wheels. I would also say not keeping people involved like Nigel Deeley who knows the club inside out was a massive mistake aswell.

I’m 22 and that 10 minutes of football before half time was some of the most outrageous stuff I’ve ever seen.

As for those comments by the keeper he can f*ck off for all I care, we have bigger fish to fry than you be11end.

Lets get a win Tuesday to secure safery, I don’t see any reason why not after watching the first 35 today.

The following 10?

I’ve put that out of my memory.

How angry was I last night, pulled a drunken mookie!

The last six (completed) games have seen three great performances, against Skem Rushall and FCUM, and three “not so great” ones Whitby Nantwich and yesterday. In those three poor performances Andy Robertson gifted a goal to the opposition each game. Any player can make mistakes of course and I actually thought he had done well up to then. Apparently he had a major health scare and wanted to play despite it hanging over him, he should not have played. Yesterdays error was just foolishness, beating one attacker with the ball at his feet he could have cleared it but chose not too, he had made a really good save before that too.

His twitter comment isn’t really worthy of mention, but it is a shame when any player leaves with that thought about us, the fans, in his head…very sad.

I think our survival is hanging by a thread now, and may be reliant on the points we have already being enough (even if we are reprieved in the fourth relegation spot). I’m still of the mind that Sully is given a chance to find his feet at this level, but whether that happens is a big question of course, his passion and commitment is there for all to see. On that subject Jon Dawson has that passion and commitment in spades, MOM yesterday despite the own goal he was nearly in tears at the end and was shaking hands and apologising on the popular side…

Just my thoughts on refection this morning…COME ON THE ALBIOOOON

Just think we should cut Sully some slack for yesterday, completely out of his control, I know this season has been terrible but to be fair we lost was it 13 games on the spin? And we are within one win from two games to stay up, don’t get me wrong I am not happy where we are and it can’t happen again next season but if we stay up, Sully has if we stay achieved what he was employed to do 1. Cut the wages 2. Work on what was left to bring players in cheap 3. Keep us up.

Decisions need to be made in the summer and I for one will support whatever the club decides.

Agree that players were mostly to blame for yesterday but can’t agree that even if we stay up Sully has achieved anything, the squad/ team is worse now than when he took over, even good fans have stopped watching us which is a really bad sign ! I think he has signed about 16 players since arriving and most have been average to hopeless, our best players have all been from the Pre Sully era eg Danny, Titch, Dawse, Josh even, under Sully we also lost good players in Ben, Gards and Cliff plus a few others for whatever reason, he has made a mess of the keeper/ coach position and of his signing only John Shaw and Tom Schofield have been decent additions, Clarke has potential but is lightweight and inconsistent and Liam Goulding has been ok at times but is not a fullback.
If Sully is to stay as manager in whatever division we are in he would have to have a very clear plan of signings, changes and approach to convince me he is up to the task of managing our club to greater things.

One other thing the Blyth support was amazing yesterday. I couldn’t believe there was the team coach and three other mini coaches parked up when I arrived. They were in good spirits (even before we gifted them all those goals) and were really nice friendly folks. I hope they all had a safe journey back.

On a lighter note, don’t forget it’s the Witton Albion Beer festival next weekend. So come down and support the club.
It all kicks off thursday night against Vics then Friday the Comedy club is just £7!
Saturday night we have an excellent Madonna tribute (one of the singers from the frozen show) and a 90’s rave with non other than Jamie Thompson on the decks!

I must agree about the Blyth fans, absolute credit to the club, i had been in touch with the Cannock Spartans and the unofficial supporters club through Twitter and let them know about happy hour till 2pm so i was delighted when the coaches started arriving just after 12.
They were in good spirits from the moment they arrived and requested a few songs which they sang along with, they drank loads and spent loads and also put money in Tracys pitch fund.
Today ive been reading some great comments about Witton Albion from Blyth fans on Social media and their forum and everyone of them hoping we stay up.

Yep apart from playing in green n white shite colours they are a good club, if they were not there yesterday the atmosphere would have been zero !
