For most of the first half and a good chunk of the second I thought we played really well. Had some nice link up play and created a few chances. The game petered out with about 20 mins to go but up untill then it was very entertaining and closely fought. Physical game too for a friendly, thought we were lucky not to have man sent off (not sure who it was?) for what looked from where I was like a nasty 2 footer and Burnley picked up a decent amount of bookings.

Goalkeeping was pretty solid barring a moment of chaos early on in the second half, absolutely nothing could be done about the goal which was a beautiful finish.

It seemed that most of our chances came from playing it on the ground, there was a tendancy to play it long, particularly late on in the game, which never really amounted to much which could do to be ironed out but positive other than that.

Nice event after the game too, I’ve got my book and have a lot of reading up to do!

I can confirm that the money raised tonight has covered the cost of the books’ production, all payments from now on are pure profit for the club and that could amount to £1,000!
If you have ordered but not collected you can do so at the next few Matches or by ringing me on 07527637108 and arranging a pick up at my home. Please do so asap as there are now a considerable amount of people who.want a copy but have not ordered.
I will keep all ordered copies for the next few weeks but will then sell them to those waiting for copies.
Mark Harris has said he will finance another run f the book if we run out!
It was a wonderful night and great to see a couple of really top players. My email is still out so don’t try to contact me on it.

It was Will Jones booked for that challenge, but it wasn’t even a booking both went in hard and both single footed making contact at the same time ? Thought we played ok but wasted a few chances again and just missing a cutting edge to our game, think Brown will be in the back 4 when he’s is back and we still need pdq a keeper and centre mid player and we won’t be far off IMO. UTA

Regarding Jones’ booking, it was actually a ‘hospital pass’ from the Burnley player that resulted in Jones and their other player going in hard for a 50/50.
I thought we were easily the better team in the first half and although Burnley got better as the second half progressed, we still had a few chances to equalise. I think a draw would have been a fair result.
I may be wrong on this but I think there was only one shot on target in the entire ninety minutes and they scored from it!

I have been reliably informed that Harry Limb, Burnley U23’s goalscorer actually featured in a Witton Albion Development Squad game against Salford City.

It was a hell of a finish!!
