Witton Albion vs Buxton (NON LEAGUE DAY 2022).

Non league day comes to the U Lock It Stadium on Saturday afternoon when we host Buxton in a Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture.

Witton look to end a run of five successive defeats in the month and face one of their toughest tests of the season so far as the Bucks challenge for the title.

Results have been disappointing in recent games but some performances or parts of them have been encouraging, the latest being a narrow 1-0 defeat to an in-form Stafford Rangers side pushing for the play offs.

The winning goal was typical of our season to date, sometimes you get those decisions in your favour and sometimes as on this occasion, it went against us.

It’s gone and we have to dust ourselves down and face the next challenge and the team will give everything they have in their bid to climb out of danger.

The return fixture just over two weeks ago, saw Witton put up a spirited display especially when you consider they played the whole of the second half with only ten men. That’s difficult against anyone but against a team in the kind of form that Buxton are in, it’s near impossible.

A goal only two minutes from the end secured the points in Buxton’s favour and gave them a 3-1 win but you can be sure they knew that they had been in a game, and they’ll know this time that will need to battle for what they might get or not as the case may be.

Witton need the fans more than ever now and their support can make all the difference.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.
