Buxton had a goal ruled out for offside just before the end.

Today’s result could prove very important following other results. The bottom two Belper & Trafford were inactive this afternoon, Marine picked up a point while Matlock lost at home to Ashton. Nantwich are in action tomorrow at FC United. Next weeks game at Matlock now becomes more significant as we’ve opened a seven point gap but the Gladiators have games in hand.

Deserved point, against a top 3 side. Some of the passing was a bit wayward at times but we created chances. A draw probably a fair result.

Gards took a nasty one late and looked to be struggling to move afterwards but we’d used all 3 subs so he battled on B)

7 points ahead of Matlock so next week is a big one.

Attendance: 394.

Well pleased with that point, we worked very hard for it and it was well deserved in the end. Not the prettiest of games but ours was a fantastic goal and the lads effort and determination was faultless. The referee never really got a grip of the game and lost control at times. A good result at Matlock next week and maybe we can breathe a bit easier. UTA :clap

A thouroughly deserved point overall and our commitment, every single player, couldn’t be faulted! Even first 20 minutes then they scored with a very well worked free kick, we battled back with two disallowed goals and a half chance for Titch before half time.
In the second half we were in the ascendency but were disrupted by the substitutions, possibly made for injury and tiredness reasons rather than tactically?
We defended manfully and rode our luck, even had a couple of chances late on (and of course they had one disallowed very late on and missed what looked like a sitter!) A precious point gained today and a great deal of gratitude to the ground staff for getting the game on!

Our groundstaff are VERY special.
WHS.

Once we stopped aimlessly pumping the high balls up front and went back to what we do best - short inter-passing moves, I thought we were more than their equal for long periods. Apart from a late panic spell, the 2nd half was good for us and Danny got yet another superb goal. I thought Clark in midfield looked classy, if a little over casual on occasions. But he is a good play-maker. Packing the midfield and leaving 2 small lads a bit isolated up front does not make for a pretty game, but the fitness and effort was spot on. So, a good response to the dire performance at Stourbridge.
