Witton Albion vs Buxton

Weather permitting, Witton return to Wincham Park on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Buxton in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. Following two setbacks on the road at Hyde United & Lancaster City respectively, Witton are now in danger of being dragged into the relegation fight and face another crucial game against a Buxton team currently occupying a place in the top half. Albion can take a lot of confidence from the fact they have performed well in both of their last two away trips despite coming away empty-handed on both occasions. They can also look to their trip to the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium earlier in the season, which saw them produce their best performance certainly league-wise as they thrashed the Bucks comprehensively 5-0, but apart from the result it was the performance that was so convincing on the day. The need for points and particularly at Wincham Park has never been more evident than it is now, as the teams at the lower end of the table edge closer. If they can solve the goalscoring issue starting on Saturday then hopefully they can secure enough points to climb the table particularly with still having games in hand on all the other teams. Buxton will pose a definite threat and Witton will need to put absolutely everything into the game if they are to get a positive and much-needed result. Kick off at Wincham Park is 3pm.
