Witton return to league action on Saturday, when they welcome Carlton Town to The NetDec Stadium in an Evo-Stik Division One South fixture. Without the distraction of the FA Trophy, Carl Macauley’s team are now able to concentrate on the league and hopefully increase the pressure on leaders Shaw Lane. Carlton have shown improvement of late and will be tough opponents as they attempt to become the first team to complete the double over the Albion this season. The fixture in Nottinghamshire earlier in the season did have rather a surprising scoreline to it as Witton ended up on the wrong end that day, having initially taken a two-goal lead. Witton’s league form has been good and only Stocksbridge Park Steels have gone away from The NetDec Stadium with anything this season, despite the lack of league games in recent weeks. Carlton in fact, have won all of the previous three meetings between the two clubs and Witton will be looking to put that right in this encounter. Kick off at The NetDec Stadium is 3pm.

One would suggest that striking options for Saturday are limited and if Tols loan hasn’t been extended they are non existent. Is there any news on Tol and if not any talk of reinforcements???
I just hope the players can overcome the travesty of Tuesday and put their usual committed performance in and get the 3 points needed for our push for promotion push. They are certainly a great bunch of players and are more than capable of delivering to us fans what we crave for. Come on boys you can do it. I also hope that at least some stay away fans will return to see what they have been missing, a truly committed team of hard working players, who can also play good football. UTA
I am sure the management team will be telling the players Tuesday has gone,.can’t change the past, learn and move on. Nothing like another game to get the last one out of the system. They know that too
Great news about Rob if its true and no need to to doubt CJ who has his finger on the pulse. Think the suspensions kick in 7 days after the offending game so does give our management team time to plan for the vics game. It won’t be easy against Carlton because if they have the same team that beat us they have two very quick lads up front. However this team of ours will bounce back after the Tuesday fiasco and we know they are always up for a fight (not literally of course).
My thoughts are more clear after Tuesday and I thought the Chester manager handled himself well with dignity. I’ve no axe to grind either with the majority of Chester fans who have mostly paid us compliments. However we must complain about the ridiculous apparition in black impersonating a referee. I would hope he won’t referee us again. Nuff said moving on from this and its onward and upward lets go win our league UTA!!
Early team news: Paul Williams & Steven Tames are still missing through injury. Tolani Omotola and Matty Devine are available, Rob Hopley hopefully but not confirmed.
Carlton Town forward Aaron Hooton is missing through injury.
We need three points to start to put pressure on Shaw Lane and the others. Win tomorrow and Boxing Day and we will really be there or thereabouts. ONWARD AND UPWARDS!!.
