jono dont understand how you can say our best player is somebody that did’nt give a toss about us 12 months ago.would’nt play while sully was in charge and then saw his own arse after 3 months of not playing decided to come to come back because not 1 non league club out of about 50 in the region got in touch with him.as rafa would say,FACT.
He did give a toss but could not work with Sully and co, and that was last season - THIS Season he has been by far the best and most consistent player.
The key to next season is to get rid of the ridiculous loan policy and development squad nonsense, keep Andrews, Gards, Hopley, Schoey, Titch, the keeper and one or two others and get some others on a contract for the season. Lets stop fking about and get a club to be proud of back. UTA
Let’s just hope there are no more wage budget cuts? Because if this what we get with a decent budget, god knows what next season will be like?
As Paul S says we need to start running a first team and forget all this feeder club and development non sense, let’s look at Theo for example he is the shining light of the development squad! He is arguably worse than Zac Corbett, it’s time to stop pretending and looking for positives and to start realising these last 3 years have been pathetic, and if next season follows the same mis-managed pattern the club we all love is in big trouble! But all we can do is put our trust in Carl and hope he delivers
Just my opinion though
I think most are spot on, I would keep Danny Andrews, Ant Gardner, Rob Hopley for certain, and if they get over the long term niggly injuries Schofield, Roberts and Titch ! Wilson, Dawson and King would be a maybe mainly because I feel we need much more physicality from players in the team we are too easily bullied in this league plus we need an injection of pace in areas of the team eg wing and up front (look how much better we were with Reeves and Menagh in the side ). Above all we need value for money from the players we bring in who can put a shift in every week, put a foot in and are good enough footballers to make a difference and I am sure Carl will get them playing as a team- As Johny says could be a tough ask on our budget levels but I hope we back the manager and have a go.
It’s not rocket science. If we want better players at our club then revenue needs to increase, it’s very difficult to build a successful team on crowds of 200. Supporters will watch a winning team but, to get the quality of players needed, it takes increased revenue and more people coming through the turnstiles. Cup runs will also help but it’s inevitable that if that does not happen then budget cuts will follow and that is the same at any football club.
Personally I’m sick and tired of hearing about the budget (or lack of it) and fans discussing it throughout the season has done nothing but create negativity and fall out because of it. For me it doesn’t do any good talking about the budget and it is the boards and Carl’s responsibility to use the budget as wisely as they can, next season I will be solely judging performances on the pitch and said people should be held to account for them end of. We all have our own thoughts on what the budget is and where this club should be but clearly it doesn’t do any good talking about it. Lets hope next season is much better than this one anyway. UTA

In my opinion and without doubt Gards has been our player of the season and for me him and hopley would be the first names on my team sheet. I am not interested in what has happened in the past. Mr Chairman has given Gards his backing and that is good enough for me.
We had 5th highest average attendance, we charge the most expensive admission in the league, we also had the rent money from vics.
Pleading poverty doesn’t wash with me.
Carl now has a chance to build a squad capable of challenging at the right end of the table.
