Witton Albion vs Crewe Alexandra (PSF).

Following a blank week, Witton welcome League One Crewe Alexandra for their second pre season friendly on Wednesday night.

Albion put in a decent performance against newly-formed Macclesfield FC last week despite missing some first team players and will take some positives from the game, although the difference was evident as the Silkmen are further into their pre season preparations.

Crewe began their build-up for the new league season at the weekend with a 2-1 success at neighbours Nantwich Town in front of 946 spectators.

Familiar faces to Witton fans featured in the first half against the Dabbers on Sunday in the form of Luke Offord, Owen Dale & Regan Griffiths, who scored one of the goals.

Pre Season Friendlies against Crewe Alexandra have become a regular event in recent seasons, although some of the personnel may have changed.

Witton face another tough challenge this time around, although they will be hoping for a closer game than the last time the Alex visited Wincham Park where three late goals gave the visitors a comfortable 4-0 victory. A result which didn’t reflect the competitive nature of the 90 minutes.

Kick Off at Wincham Park is 7.45pm.

I’m guessing it will be a mixed Crewe squad as they are playing Ashton United as well. .
