Witton welcome Vanarama League North Curzon Ashton to Wincham Park on Tuesday evening in what is their final “home” pre season game before a sequence of three away games to complete the campaign. Curzon Ashton will begin their league season with a long trip to Darlington on Saturday, following a very strong pre season programme in which they’ve had games against fellow Vanarama League North AFC Fylde and also faced strong opposition from League Two Oldham Athletic and Premiership Burnley. Games between the two clubs have been a rare event in recent years but who can forget that momentous occasion in 2011 when Witton travelled to Tameside Stadium in the Play Off Final and came away with a tremendous victory. Witton go into the game after their first win in pre season against City of Liverpool FC at the weekend so will be looking to build on that. The squad is beginning to take shape with the new arrivals and game time will be of great benefit to them as the new season gets ever closer. Another competitive encounter can be expected as the game represents Curzon 's last friendly before the start of the campaign. Kick off at Wincham Park is 7.45pm.
