Really looking forward to this game between two in form teams, hopefully it will be on. Our grondstaff will no doubt do their utmost to get the game on. I will go for a 2-1 win to us, keeping our good run going. We should all get down to the game and cheer Witton on until our lungs bare bursting.UTA :clap :clap :clap :clap
Hopefully we perform better than the last time we played them…one of the worst performances by a Witton team I have ever seen! Carl and Gary have brought us a long way since mid October.
Witton welcome in-form Farsley Celtic to The NetDec Stadium on Saturday, in an Evo-Stik Division One North fixture, The fixture is the third meeting between the two sides this season, the previous two being very different for both clubs. Farsley began the season towards the lower reaches of the table but their season seemed to take off from the seven-goal hammering dished out to Albion in October. The meeting in the FA Cup, was a closer affair with Witton just edging their visitors out by the odd goal in three. Under the guidance of manager and former Albion player Neil Parsley, Farsley have turned their season around and with Witton are probably two of the form teams in the league at the present time - winning ten and drawing two of the last twelve league games. They were rather surprisingly knocked out of the Integro Doodson League Cup by struggling Scarborough Athletic in midweek, albeit on penalties. Today’s encounter will no doubt be as keenly contested as previous games. Kick off at The NetDec Stadium is 3pm.

The Groundstaff would appreciate any help available from 9am onwards in order to get the game on.
Will be another tough test for the rejuvenated Albs, I dont think barring injury we can change the team that played so well at Bamber, a win would be absolutely great and we are capable now so looking forward to the game and hope we get a decent crowd in to support the team they deserve it for recent form. Is there any update on whether or not the game is on or off, or when a decision is going to be made?
Jeff, re the Witton facebook status that just said its on, that was me. I thought I saw a message from the groundstaff saying game on but I was mistaken, so don’t rely on that last Witton update, which has been deleted. I have no idea, although I don’t think there was a planned inspection.
The Stewards have just announced a Pitch Inspection at 2pm - Not looking good.
MATCH POSTPONED - Due to a Waterlogged Pitch.
Damn and blast !
Whilst I haven’t seen the pitch today I would say, whilst it’s disappointing, to risk a game as significant as this (between the two in-form teams) on a difficult pitch is unfair to both teams.
The correct decision I would say.

The pitch was playable at 11.30, but heavy persistent rain meant that as we got closer to kick off there was an awful lot of surface water over large areas of the pitch, especially down the middle. Despite valiant attempts to clear the water, we were never in with a chance unless the rain stopped - which it didn’t. Realistically the decision to postpone was the only option, although disappointing for both teams.
If we had played, besides risking injury to players, there may have been so much damage that the future games would also have been threatened.
Lets hope we get some dry weather !!!
