Witton face another tough examination on Saturday afternoon when they welcome second-placed Farsley Celtic to Wincham Park in their final Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture of the year. The Yorkshire club have continued their impressive form from last season which saw them finish their campaign in fifth place before losing in the play offs. They arrive in Cheshire suffering only one defeat in their last nineteen games, and have won six of their nine league games on the road. There have been changes in personnel this season but they still look likely to maintain a serious challenge for honours at the end of the season. Last season’s meetings saw Witton pick up an excellent point at Throstle Nest, but the return at Wincham Park towards the end of the campaign saw Farsley clinch all three points. Witton have already drawn the same amount of home games in the league as they did throughout the whole of last season and as their away form has been impressive, it is that home form which has prevented them climbing the table. With games in hand, they still have a realistic chance of competing in the end of season play offs but, they need to start turning those draws at home into wins. The holiday period has been tough for Witton and with further games to come, they will be tested to the limit but these types of games always seem to bring the best out of them. Kick off at Wincham Park is 3pm.
