Witton Albion vs Gainsborough Trinity.

Witton face perhaps their toughest test so far on Saturday afternoon when they welcome third-placed Gainsborough Trinity to Wincham Park in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. Following relegation from the Vanarama League North at the end of last season, Trinity have assembled a very strong squad with players of experience and also some youngsters. A number of their playing personnel have arrived following the demise of Shaw Lane and they have performed well from the start of the season. Witton’s start to the campaign has been mixed so far although they have progressed in the Emirates FA Challenge Cup and home form as been good. The two sides haven’t met in a league fixture at Wincham Park since 1996 due to differing fortunes in recent years but hopefully, this will be a test for both teams. Gainsborough arrive at Wincham Park on the back of putting eight past Chasetown in an FA Cup replay in midweek following a 1-1 draw last weekend . Witton will want to improve on their performance against Stafford Rangers on Tuesday and they are more than capable of beating anyone when at their best, they will need to be to stop the Lincolnshire side from going home with the points. Kick off at Wincham Park is 3pm.
