After an absolutely fantastic performance on Tuesday, let’s see if we can build on that against Grantham tomorrow. We’ve got more quality players coming back now such as Conners, Shaw and Ollie James (who I believe is back in training?)
Grantham have a good away following usually, as demonstrated when they brought a coach full in 2007 for the 4-4 draw, when they were already relegated.
A few of us were discussing on the way home from Rushall what we can do about the atmosphere at home games, which let’s be honest, is sh*te. One solution that was suggested is that everybody who wants to sing should get right behind the goal, instead of spreading out across the terrace. More people would be sure to start songs if they know they will be backed up.
So lets have plenty of :clap :clap and hopefully it’ll spur the lads on to score plenty of :goal :goal
I’m with you there mate. We’re really noisy away and so quiet at home and its the same bunch of lads home and away so i find it a bit baffling sometimes that its like that!?
I’d also agree that’s there’s a definite feeling of ‘going into the lion’s den’ and making ourselves heard.
Obviously, many of the vocal fans also have jobs to do around the ground on a home matchday, meaning they can’t commit to standing behind the goal from the first whistle.
Gutted I can’t be there today as for me today is the day that may define our season. Complacency will no doubt see defeat as Grantham aren’t a bad side. 12 points is achievable this month which would leave us just needing one win to pretty much guarentee safety. Who would have imagined that happening before xmas!!!
If we start November off well and pick up 3 points today it keeps us in the pack. I can see a few teams slipping away this month and a few coming good (watch out for Worksop!)
Which Albion will turn up today - hopefully we will see the one that went to Rushall on Tuesday, another Tuck hat-trick would be good.
I reckon we’ll get the win today after the boost that tuesday’s great win will have given the lads and putting a really disappointing week behind us. COME ON WITTON! :clap
Good away support and poor home support is the same with pretty much every club at every level.
The main reason for me is that the 50-100 that travel away pretty much all sing whereas the people that don’t go away, don’t really sing (or certainly not as much) and it dilutes the people who do sing. So bearing that in mind if we did form a ‘singing section’ I think it would be pretty effective.
