Witton Albion vs Grantham Town.

Witton look to continue their upturn in results on Saturday afternoon when they welcome bottom of the table Grantham Town to the newly-named U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture.

Four points from the last two games has seen Witton climb out of the bottom three, helped by their first home win of the season against Mickleover FC last weekend.

The Gingerbreads managed by former Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and England midfielder Carlton Palmer, arrive in Cheshire with only one league victory on their travels so far this season, a 2-1 success at Radcliffe FC on the opening day but their last game saw them beaten by Nantwich Town in midweek at The South Kesteven Stadium.

Last season saw Grantham sitting in 21st place in the table when the campaign was curtailed so they’ll be hoping to improve on that and climb away from the relegation zone.

Saturday’s game sees the first part of a double-header as Hyde United visit in the next few days and indeed, October is a busy month with a number of home games to follow, let’s hope it turns out to be a profitable one.

Witton can expect a tough game as Grantham will not make things easy and we will have to perform to our utmost to secure the points.

Kick off at The U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.
