100% agree with TJW77, there was an air of resignation at the ground today from supporters and management alike. There is a distinct lack of flair and urgency in this side. Changes required now otherwise we are undoubtedly looking at relegation.
Could not make the game but obviously a very poor result! I think the bulk of the fans want to see change, be that in the squad in style or if the mgt team are not upto doing this in time to prevent a run to relegation then yes, a change of mgt! it’s what happens on football, recruitment has been poor and we are relying on youth loans for our 11? Injuries are clearing but we look no better!
Talking to Eric Finnigan on Saturday night and he said “the first half was fairly even but once Grantham scored and then getting three in seven minutes in the second half finished us off and the margin of victory could’ve been worse,”
Yes, the Gingerbreads had something of a purple patch early in the second half when, every time they ventured forward, it seemed as if they were going to score a goal. Not saying that the veteran Steve McNulty would have made all that much of a difference on Saturday, but there’s a definite fragility/lack of robustness in the defence when he doesn’t start. Similarly in midfield with Billy Smart currently a long term absentee.
