Witton are in cup action on Tuesday evening when they welcome Hyde United in the First Round of the Cheshire FA Senior Cup. The Tigers are enjoying an excellent season so far and currently sit fourth in the Evo-Stik North table, having lost only once from their first twenty league games. They also reached the First Round of the Emirates FA Cup, where they were chosen for live television coverage against League One Milton Keynes Dons. Although they were beaten on the night they were far from disgraced and can take a great deal of satisfaction from their performance. The two clubs have met on numerous occasions during their years together in the Cheshire League and also in the Northern Premier League. Recent meeting have usually been limited to the Cheshire Senior Cup but that can change in the future with progress. The game allows Witton the opportunity to look at some of their fringe players, whilst still having the intention of trying to progress in the competition. Hyde will also be looking to progress against higher-ranked opponents. Should the game be drawn after normal time, a further period of extra time will be played and then if the scores are still level the tie will be decided on penalties. Kick off at The NetDec Stadium is 7.45pm.
