Witton Albion vs Hyde United.

Witton look to return to winning ways when they welcome Hyde United in a Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture on Tuesday night.

The mini revival didn’t last long, as it was brought to an abrupt end by bottom club Grantham Town on Saturday but there was little or no indication of what was to come when the two sides left the pitch at half time.

So often we see teams who are struggling raise their game and Grantham’s win on Saturday was their fourth success in their last seven visits to the ground but, we have to move on and go again.

The injury situation appears to be easing with the exception of a couple of players but the squad will be utilised in whatever way is deemed necessary.

The Tigers currently sit in sixteenth place in the table and have won only once on the road this season, a 2-0 victory at Nantwich Town recently but, they were not in action at the weekend due to their opponents Basford United’s involvement in the Emirates FA Challenge Cup.

They are now under new management following the recent appointment of former Stockport County & Northwich Victoria boss Jim Gannon and will be looking to improve on the current league position so will be difficult opponents for Witton.

Games are coming thick and fast now and the need to start picking up points on a regular basis is quite evident starting with this one as Witton look to open up a gap between the teams below them.

Kick off at The U Lock It Stadium is 7.45pm.

Nantwich Town vs Gainsborough Trinity in the Northern Premier League is OFF tonight due to a waterlogged pitch.

Presumably Wincham Park is holding up rather better, ahead of tonight’s NPL home fixture vs Hyde United?

Was fine at lunch time, a lot of rain this pm might make it a bit soft but with a decent run till k.o. we should be ok. UTA

Might be in doubt now any updates ?

The referee has just passed the pitch fit so the game is ON.
