Witton Albion vs Kidsgrove Athletic (PSF).

Witton welcome Kidsgrove Athletic to Wincham Park on Tuesday evening in a Pre Season Friendly arranged at short notice. Witton’s warm-up programme to date has seen them lose just the once against a very strong Crewe Alexandra side whilst Grove have been rather busier. The fixture is Athletic’s ninth friendly and they have so far won four and lost three of the previous eight. Their last game being last Thursday a 6-1 win over Ramsbottom United. In Anthony Malbon, they possess on of the most prolific goalscorers currently playing at that level so Witton will be hopefully keeping a close eye on him knowing what he is capable of. Albion’s pre season has seen decent performances with most of their games being drawn but having players missing hasn’t helped them but then that could be said of any team. Players including trialists have come in and played their part whilst also giving the management team things to consider as we approach the new season now looming. Whilst Albion will go into their new campaign with the trip to Whitby Town a place they know well and have an excellent record there, Kidsgrove begin their league programme with a home fixture against Stocksbridge Park Steels and pre season will be a thing of the past. All the experimenting will be put to the test for real. Kidsgrove will provide a test for Witton that’s for sure and both teams will be looking ahead to the new season with optimism. Kick off at Wincham Park is 7.45pm.
