Although the gate was 243, only 107 people paid to get in (65 Adults, 38 over 65’s, and 4 students).
Compare this to our 1st home game 2 years ago on the same date (16th August 2014), where the gate was 381 (145 Adults, 91 over 65’s, and 8 students paid).
Please can you explain why only 107 people ( including myself ) paid to get in and 136 did not ?
A mixture of Kids Go Free, players passes, petty pool pass, season ticket holders and front door guests. I have said enough now. I will not be answering any more questions on this subject. As other people have mentioned, we need to concentrate on the positives shown on the pitch, not only last night, but as seen last Saturday.
Said we are top of the league! Great first half performance attacking wise and we could have led by more than three! They really tried to get at us second half but our defence was excellent. As far as the crowd numbers go look at others at our level and a level above to put it into perspective. A very promising start! I do wish there was a notice or announcement about food if the snack bar is shut I was flippin famished!
You are spot on Johny how can anyone be moaning ! its going well on the pitch SO we need to be POSITIVE end off - everything else should follow for gods sake just enjoy the football on offer so far its superb. UTA
The lady who does the snack bar was taken ill at short notice, but the club did put on extra food in the Bar which was accesible from tghe Ground and it was announced on the tannoy, not much else we could do at short notice.
I do try and include all the information available to me in the Pre Match section of the forum. The information normally includes details of food availability on matchdays. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to obtain the information for last night’s game and had no prior knowledge of the tea bar being closed.
First time I’ve seen us since end of last season, thought we looked good. Not been to a night match for many years due to work and lack of entertainment, so crowd was 1 more than normal. For the record I think TT is entitled to have a little moan having done all he has for the club over the years. The thing is we can’t force people to attend, that will come with a winning team like every other club in football.
It was a very enjoyable trip on Saturday , I hate missing games when I feel there is a buzz about the place . and I kind of expected the result on Tuesday night . There is no reason for anyone to moan . Everyone there is doing there job . Talking to Mooresy on the way back gives you an insight into what’s involved . They look after the lads but are told what commitment is needed and if your not prepared to commit then the club say goodbye and wish you well . However from the early impressions I doubt many will want to leave . And with good results more will want to come to us . It’s about time we got a buzz going again . Crowds will come back the longer it continues it’s human nature , we will all want to be part of it . Let’s hope to sustain it a bit .
Yes a very good performance, and every player showed 100% plus commitment and played some good football. It really does loo as if we have turned things around and the season looks very promising. So let’s get behind the team and and more wins will come, starting on Saturday in the FA cup, a nice run in this would bring the fans back. Looking forward to a successful season. UTA
Do we include season ticket holders, who are not in attendance at a particular game, as part of the official attendance? Or is our attendance simply the number of people within the stadium for a particular match as (in my opinion) it should be? I see that most clubs, including Premiership clubs, count season ticket holders in their attendance that are not actually at the game but I’d be interested to know if we do the same. UTA
Bigger crowd than 2012 got on tuesday. Keep winning and the turnstyles will keep clicking. Say no more!

You want to compare attendances!
You came off the back of a win, 1874 had lost 1-4
You are a league higher
You are based in Northwich.
1874 count ACTUAL paying people through the turnstiles, you (I’m lead to believe), count non attending season ticket holders.
And after all this you had a huge higher crowd of…(drumroll!!)…10. Really!!
Was it worth the embarassment of mentioning it!
Just saying…  .

2012 have a ready made fan base because you are all former Vcs fans, Northwich Vcs allegedly being the bigger club in Northwich historically. You should therefore be getting bigger crowds than us because of that fact, but clearly you aren’t!!! mooney

In answer to your question, yes it was worth mentioning as your reaction proves.
This thread is about WAFC vs kidsgrove, not attendances at 1874.
The over riding message has to be that we have a team that’s worth supporting, that’s worth giving up your afternoon and hard earned cash to come and watch. A team that is enterprising, full of effort, lots of skill and players who are really trying to deliver on their commitment to WAFC.
Spread the word, come and watch.
Ok we are only 2 games in, but there are good things happening at this club. Be part of it.
Some (not all) of the 1874 fans are embarrassing! I know many of the “old” vics fans who totally lost interest of the original team and pledged allegiance to the “people’s club”. Most of them then got on a bus to Northampton for a day out supporting the club they had lambasted for a couple of years. (The grass isn’t always as slimey green on the other side)
