The biggest test for the lads so far but, if we play as we are capable of doing it’s a test we can pass. Yes, Lancaster have started very well but they’re not unbeatable. Pritch & Mose will have the boys ready I’m sure of that and the way we have played so far will surely give the team confidence of achieving something tomorrow. They will need us just as much tomorrow behind them, if not more so and who knows we might just make the difference.
A preview of the weekend from the Lancaster manager, having seen us on Wednesday he says he wouldn’t swap any of our players for his…
They’ve had a fairly easy start.
Let them come to us and be overconfident.

The Guardian giving us column space? Perhaps my having a go at Andy Simpson had some affect after all. But whatever the reason great to see us in the local press for all the right reasons unlike our “friends” across the canal who seem to get in mostly for all the wrong reasons!
WHS.
Agree with The Dodger, This game game will also be a big test for them. looking forward to it. see you there.
WHS, please can you try to not bring Vics into every thread?
None of us like Vics and therefore prefer not to be reminded of them in other subjects.
I know we advocate free speech so this is a polite request.
To use an analogy which you hopefully will appreciate and understand,if this were “Just A Minute”, you would be constantly challenged for deviation!
It is entirely relevant to comment about the Guardian but stay focused.
I was focused, the comment was about the Guardian reporting on us which made a change. Anyway, back to the game; good luck lads sadly I will be getting wet at Bunbury!!

Forgive me but you wrote this in your posting. Perhaps you don’t even realise you are doing it.
Come on the Albs we can do this! I can’t be in attendance due to work, damn, a win would be brilliant!!
Lost 0-4
A fantastic attendance which was very pleasing.
Didn’t go according to plan today. We were beaten in my view by a good side who will be challenging at the end of the season, no question.
We actually began the game very well indeed and it was fantastic stuff to watch. Efforts by Newman & Ennion were close and if it wasn’t for their goalkeeper (who made some top drawer saves) we could have been 2-0 up!
Lancasters’ first goal was a real kick in the teeth because we were on top. A great free kick from distance.
When we fell 2-0 behind to what looked a soft goal I still felt 1 goal could get us right back in it but that goal never came.
The 2nd half was very boring and Lancaster easily dealt with anything we tried with a very organised back 4. Our keeper came runing of his line (which he seems to do alot) and they lobbed it into the empty net and we just fell apart.
Beaten by a good side and nice to see a few people behind their goal. We cant win them all and im sure pritch and mose will get the lads fired up for 3 points on Monday
Onwards & upwards.
I thought 4-0 was a bit harsh especially after the first half when we had far more chances than them but they were a very well organised side and in my opinion are 2 or 3 years ahead or where we want to be, the 2 best players on the pitch being the number 10 and the centre half, both 18 years old and have come through the youth and reserve system they have. Lets hope for a quick return to form on Monday.
Started bright and there was nothing in it. Recently, we do seem to give a few needless free kicks away around our box. It happened against Bamber Bridge but we got away with it. We didn’t get away with it against Lancaster. I thought that they were a very good outfit. Still never mind, lets move on and grab 3 points on Monday afternoon and all will be forgotton…SBL
Whilst obviously disappointed with the eventual scoreline - on another day it could have been 2-2 at half time had their keeper (voted MOM by Lancaster City - says everything) not played extremely well in the first half.
The only negative really was the continual ‘lump the ball forward so their centre halves could have heading practice’ I thought perhaps the management might have realised that after 45 minutes!!
No criticism of the effort again, just came up against a better team on the day.
As for Lancaster - they’ll enjoy their time at the top but, as always, come 2012, they’ll run out of money, put everyone on half-pay or less & the Manager will leave…

I thought we started very brightly, and at nil nil we were a joy to watch. Up until their second we still looked the better side.
Second half was a non-entity. Agree totally about the lumping it up field situation, but from what i could see the bench were trying to get us to play it out from the back rather than encouraging the long ball approach.
I do agree with Robbo, however i also thought we lost the plot with changes , at times it looked like 4 2 4 no real shape and the wingers gave us nothing in any aspect, why does gardner go right wing he has no right foot at all, this only works if you have a decent right foot and can go either way, and i was also suprised that Titch did not win more in the air , given our strategy seemed to be to hit the big man (titch) upfront with a long high ball  put this one behind us and move on but I think overall it shows up our lack of real quality and at best we look at the playoffs with this squad sadly our best 11 is ok but not a title threatening team and we have very little on the bench.
More negativity CJ ! Bouncebackability at Trafford will get them back on track ! The league does not lie and the top 4 are probably the ones that will be there come end of season ( they have more resources than Witton ) !
I don’t understand CJ?
Anthony Gardner IS right footed, and I thought he was MOM. I also think he did extremely well covering for Paul Booth whilst he has been out with his hamstring. Are you mixing him up with Danny Andrews who plays on the right side of midfield. but is better with his left foot? If that is the case, he plays there because of his shooting ability, and it is better for him to cut in side and unleash his powerful shot, which we have seen on many occasions this season. He uses Gardner on the overlap as the other option, if he chooses to put a cross in instead.
I was at the game Eli and it was not a negative view it was a report and my views, which are similar to yours in that at the moment we wont threaten the top 3-4, and a lanacaster fan said they have no money either some of there best players came through the youth set up so it can be done without big money, I will hopefully be at trafford cheering Witton on, saving my views and comments for the forum I will say my piece and I dont give a stuff what other people think to be honest, if they have a different view I have no problem with that either the world would be boring if we all felt and thought the same.
