Witton Albion vs Lancaster City.

Well finally, football returns to Wincham Park after 245 days of inactivity as Witton welcome Lancaster City to Wincham Park in their first home fixture of the new season.

The game is the first of two home league fixtures in the opening week, with title favourites South Shields on the horizon but more about that nearer the time.

Tuesday night will also mark the 100th competitive game in a Witton shirt for central defender and captain Josh Wardle - should he be selected.

Lancaster got off to a disappointing start on the opening day of the season, going down to a 1-0 defeat at home to Whitby Town so they’ll want to improve on that and get their season off and running.

The two sides paths didn’t cross last season as they were due to meet later in the campaign but then the season was curtailed once again. Lancaster were sat in twelfth place in the table when the season ended.

Witton’s eventful trip to Gainsborough Trinity saw them return with a point from a difficult place to go and with players missing and some making their debuts, they can be happy with their efforts.

Tuesday night at Wincham Park in front of the fans gives the team the chance to build on Saturday’s performance and hopefully, pick up their first win but Lancaster won’t be easy and will make Albion work for everything they get.

Kick Off at Wincham Park is 7.45pm.
