Witton Albion vs Macclesfield Town (PSF).

The big kick-off is fast approaching, but with the Pitching In Northern Premier League season just days away, Albion first have a big test against Macclesfield Town in their final pre-season friendly at Wincham Park.

Carl Macauley’s side had last weekend off (no match) but come into the game off the back of a 2-0 victory over North West Counties outfit Lower Breck last week.

Josh Wardle made his long-awaited first appearance back from injury in that win, and he’ll be looking to get some more match minutes under his belt ahead of the league season start at the weekend.

It has been a turbulent few months for our opponents. Docked points and so relegated out of the EFL, Macc will be playing their football in the National League in 2020/21.

The relegation prompted the resignation of manager Mark Kennedy, a role which has since been taken by former England goalkeeper and Solihull Moors boss Tim Flowers.

Their season starts a bit later, so they may be a little further behind in their preparations for the new season, but it will undoubtedly be a good test against an outfit who were playing three levels higher just six months ago.

Kick-off on Tuesday night is at 7:45pm.
