Witton Albion vs Matlock Town.

Witton return to league action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Matlock Town to The NetDec Stadium in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. Albion goal into the game following a two-week break so will hopefully be raring to go as they try to push further up the table. The Gladiators enjoyed a top ten finish last season but finish themselves rather surprisingly at the lower end of the league, particularly as they have experienced and well-travelled front man Shaun Harrad in their ranks. Consistency appears to be a major problem at present, losing four of the last six league fixtures doesn’t help. Witton have the chance to make it three wins on the run for the first time this season and like their opponents, consistency seems to be a major factor but they are adapting to live in a higher division even at this stage. Can it really be ten years since Matlock reached the Play Offs and visited us at the Semi Final stage, we all know how that ended. A lot has changed since that night especially where Witton are concerned. It is all about the present now, the past is just that and it represents a new challenge one which so far, they have faced more than admirably. The game ahead will be tough despite Matlock’s lowly position, they always provide Witton with a difficult test and this will be no different. Kick off at The NetDec Stadium is 3pm.

The pick up/drop off points remain the same - Brio Leisure Centre & Witton Chimes. We are sincerely hoping the service will increase numbers using it, particularly new supporters. We are aware that quite a few of the fans using the service would be going anyway, but it is a gesture of goodwill from the club to main core supporters who we value highly. The fees are a contribution towards the costs we incur for the bus.

Please note: There are bucket collections being held at the stadium in aid of the "SPORTS TRADER " Charity. Please support the charity and give what you can.

Cannot wait - seems like an age since we last played at home, hopefully everyone is fit now after a good layoff, team selection will be difficult if everyone is fit and available look forward to seeing Carls selection and 3 points ! UTA

Last Saturday home game was 14th October when we beat Coalville Town 5-2. We’ve had one home fixture since - Integro League Cup against Radcliffe Borough, had four successive away games and a two week break as well.

Cannot make it Saturday, best of luck lads.
