Witton return to league action on Tuesday night when they welcome Mickleover Sports to Wincham Park in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. The team go into the game buoyed by the excellent performance and result last weekend in knocking higher-ranked FC United of Manchester out of the Emirates FA Challenge Cup. At the same time, opponents Sports were bowing out bravely to Derbyshire neighbours Alfreton Town. Their league form has been rather mixed so far with only one home defeat from the four games played whilst on the road, they have only collected two points from seven matches. Witton faced Sports three times last season, the opening game of the season saw the sides share the points in a 1-1 draw at The Don Arnott Arena. The Derbyshire side then went away from Wincham Park in the return winning by the odd goal in three. They were also to overcome Albion in the Integro League Challenge Cup on penalties after their meeting had finished level. Witton will be confident of preserving their unbeaten home record so far this season, which currently stretches to seven games in all competitions but Mickleover always prove difficult opponents and this game will be no different. Kick off at Wincham Park is 7.45pm.
