Witton return to the U Lock It Stadium on Tuesday night when they welcome Morpeth Town in a re arranged Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture.
With only a handful of games left, Witton really are in “must win” territory in a bid to preserve their Premier Division status and hoping for help from other clubs.
A point from Atherton Collieries last Tuesday night, boosted their chances of survival and it could’ve been so much more, with Albion having the better chances to win and then a decent performance at Bamber Bridge at the weekend but had nothing to show for it.
Morpeth Town make the long trip to Cheshire in tenth place in the table following a good point against title-chasing Matlock Town at the weekend so, will be looking to make a late run for the play off places.
The Highwaymen are four points off the top five so still have an outside chance of being in the mix at the end of the season but, Witton have the opportunity to complete the league double over their opponents follwing their 2-1 away win at Craik Park earlier in the season.
A Callum Saunders double secured the points for the Albion on that occasion after Jeff Henderson had given the home side the lead.
Witton supporters can still play a big part in pushing the players on in the final few games and miracles can happen but, we can only control what we do, anything else is now down to events elsewhere.
Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 7.45pm.
