Witton Albion vs Nantwich Town.

Witton begin the new year just as they ended the last one in “derby” mode, when they welcome Nantwich Town to Wincham Park in a Northern Premier League fixture. Both teams go into the game separated only by goal difference although The Dabbers have played two fewer games than the Albion. The festive period produced mixed results for Witton with defeat to Whitby Town followed by an excellent point at fellow play off contenders Warrington Town on Boxing Day, a game they might have even won but then so could their opponents. Nantwich at the same time, managed to stage a late comeback to snatch the points from Stafford Rangers at The Weaver Stadium with two late goals, when it looked as though the points were heading to Marston Road. The Play Offs are still within reach for both of these teams but they will need to put a consistent run of results together if their aims are to be achieved. Nantwich will be looking to complete the double over Witton following their victory at The Weaver Stadium earlier in the season but the Whitby game apart, Albion’s form at Wincham Park has been good and they will be hoping that continues after the game. The game also sees the return to Wincham Park of four former Albion players in Goalkeeper Greg Hall and defenders Ben Harrison, Luke Offord & Matty Devine, who no doubt will be giving everything to try and get the result for their team but Witton will be determined to make sure that doesn’t happen. Kick Off at Wincham Park is 3pm.

Looking forward to this game. I tip us to get the 3 points and put or chase for the play offs back on track.

This will be a tough test and We still be short in midfield possible due to suspension and injury so I think it will be hard to call and I will go for 1-1 and hope We can put out a team as below.

Renshaw
Baldwin, Anson, Wardle, Short
McKenna, Goulding, Owens, Foley
Jones, Sambor
