Witton Albion vs Ossett Albion (FAT. Prelim).

Managers input into whether you have a good team or not is wildly overrated. His main job is to acquire the right players, he needs to know a footballer when he sees one, some can do it, some can’t. You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear on the training ground. Some progress can be made there but only if the players are at least adequate in the first place. Mr Dundas wildly overrated the players he had at Norton, simple as that. Brian Pritchard knows a footballer when he sees one and would be great if he came back but what we need is a man who can look at a player and know almost instantly that he is good and not many can do that. He then has the constraint that even if he likes the player, the club cannot afford him.
It is why I think foreign managers in this country are wildly overrated, with almost limitless funds anyone with half a football brain could be successful at Chelsea, Man United and Man City. They don’t do so well at Crewe Alexandra!!
