Witton Albion vs Radcliffe Borough (ILC 1).

Witton take a break from Evo-Stik League action on Tuesday evening, when they welcome Evo-Stik League North Radcliffe Borough to The NetDec Stadium in the Integro League Cup First Round. The two clubs haven’t met for a while in a competitive fixture due to being in different divisions but met on a regular basis in the past. The Borough have recently undergone a change of management with the appointment of former Preston North End & Manchester City striker, Jon Macken and his assistant former Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair. Witton will be looking to continue their present form which has picked up over the past couple of games but, Radcliffe will be hoping to put on a performance against higher-ranked opposition and in cup football anything can happen. The tie will be decided on the night with no extra time. If scores are level after 90 minutes it’s straight to penalties. Kick off at The NetDec Stadium is 7.45pm.

why wouldn’t we ?

Well last season we put all our efforts into winning the league, quite rightly but I think we could do with a couple of good cup runs to boost morale both on the field and on the terraces this season.

Don’t agree with you there WHS. Had the team not put massive effort into our excellent FA and Trophy cup runs last year we would have undoubtedly won the league. I still cant believe we got so close to winning it.

I would add to that the income generated from the two, allowed us to strengthen the squad at a crucial time in the season. Without that, we may not have been able to add Will Jones and although it was a brilliant team effort which got us promoted, his goals came at a vital time and picked up points that we might not have done.

I was not referring to the “Money Making Cups” but the Cups we might possibly win!!

For me the only cup im happy to take it easy in is the MC Cup, all the others we should in my view put out strong teams. UTA

I totally agree. (though it would be nice to take it off 1666.)
