Know its early on in the week but wondered what everyones thoughts are on this game. For me its a must win, with the likes of FCUM and Skem coming up we have to get some sort of run going now. Or would people be happy with a point again? Will Fowler be fit or should we give the Venezuelan lad a start with Titch or Rainford up front? Should we revert to the 5-3-2 that seemed to work well over the festive period? In Sully we trust but just wondered if anyone has any thoughts, UTA
Ok Im game, assuming fowler won’t be fit and Corbett is suspended then I’d go 5-3-2 and Im hoping John Shaw is fit ?
Robertson
Gards. Barnes. Shaw. Goulding. Dawson
Rodden. Clark. Andrews
Molina. Titchener
Subs : Swift.Simpson.Parker.Rainford.Joe Shaw
Out : Fowler.Corbett
My doubts would be Rodden and Molina after Saturday but not seen enough of either tbh
And definitely need 3 points. UTA
Not a bad shout that CJ. Not sure about Molina’s footballing capabilities but he seemed to link up well with Titch when he came on and looked a bit awkward to play against. Was Rodden the left midfielder that went off first half? Thought he looked half decent. Could do with Joe Shaw back if fit too. Would prefer danny on the right though.
I’d go with that lineup C.J, massive game on Saturday (am trying to swap some work so I can be there!) COME ON THE ALBIOOOOON!
I might be wrong here but as far as I’m aware, suspensions at our level begin fourteen days after the offence has been committed. I haven’t seen anything in print as yet and had nothing confirmed. I would expect Zac Corbett to be available for Saturday’s game as his red card was on the Tuesday, meaning his suspension shouldn’t begin until next Tuesday. Andy Fowler was optimistic though that he could be fit.
Will throw my team in the hat, I would look at 4-4-2 buts that just because that’s the only formation I like
Robertson
Gardner Goulding Barnes Shaw
Andrews Rodden Clark Dawson/Fowler
Molina Rainford
But that’s just my opinion, can’t see how playing as deep as we are with 5 at the back will help us win games, we need to get back to the high line, high press that we used to play and got us to the playoffs!
Width would be from Gards and Dawson not sure i like that back 2 tbh and think then with a 5 we look stronger in the back and midfield, if Zak is available I’d still leave him out he was v poor Saturday but its all about opinions Sullys is the only one that counts.
AGREE WITH JONNYAMERY
442 WITH DANNY AND JON DAWSON AS WIDE MIDFIELDERS BOTH LIKE TO GO AT PEOPLE AND CREATE PROBLEMS FOR DEFENDERS BUT WE MUST GIVE THEM THE BALL TO FEET NOT JUST HOOF HIGH BALLS UP THE MIDDLE AND HOPE OUR STRIKERS CAN MAKE SOMETHING OF IT.OUR 2 CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROTECT OUR BACK 4
Can’t Corbett be given a rest-of-the-season suspension???
GE
Bit harsh GE :pinch:
The club are still waiting to hear confirmation about Zac Corbett’s suspension but it is likely to start after the weekend.
With Matlock winning last night then Saturday becomes a do or die match as far as I’m concerned…Win and we’ve still got a chance but anything less then I’m afraid we’re ****ed
That result was always coming last night from Matlock, are you sure you were happy with a point Saturday? And GE is right in harshness it’s now time to stop being ‘good old’ Witton and start being frank decisions need to be made whether people like it or not, or we are gonna end up in the Evo North or even South next season!!!
Matlock have signed well and will survive, Witton have signed poorly and we await our fate. Saturday is do or die in my opinion
Matlocks win last night makes saturdays game even more crucial. Looking at the next four fixtures they all look winnable, if we don’t pick up at least 7 points from them I think we’ve gone.
The table doesn’t look great ! We could well end up 4th from bottom and reliant on others in the leagues above dropping out ? For me it’s as simple as ever we don’t keep clean sheets and our strikers are not scoring it’s in our hands ! but I don’t think many are confident we have the players to do it, some are not in form some are not good enough and we cannot rely on the same few players to win us matches. Catching onto a theme earlier how many players could you see being here next season if we stay up ! to challenge for the playoffs for me about 6 keeps about 6 maybes & 8 not. They have about 15 games left to try and convince the manager for next season if Sully is still here !
Matlock play Marine on Saturday so something has to give but at the same time, we MUST beat Ramsbottom.
think were doomed.timid manager. reflected in the players. negative try not lose attitude only leads to one thing, but weve seen it all before, no strangers to relegation, proves one thing though, the demise of vics does us no good whatsoever. .veryangry
Christ im reading some s**t on here this week!
At a time when we all need to pull together it seems some people are relishing in slating the Manager plus some players!
How the hell the new signings are being rubbished after half a game is beyond me!
Yes we may end up being relegated but if we are its not just down to the current manager and players its been down to the other 2 Managers and their players, most of whom have now left.
Finally as many keep mentioning the great days of the play off season and the amazing day at Curzon if we hadn’t of been relegated we wouldn’t of had that day would we?!
Can we not just support the team, get off their backs and cheer them on to 3 points on Saturday

Matt I’m fully behind Sully and the lads, I’m not convinced we are good enough to stay up but I am praying that we do and will back them all the way. The consequences of us going down are unthinkable and whilst it may have been a good day out at Curzon that league has far better sides/clubs in it now, Darlington, Salford and dare I say it V*cs amongst many others. My main worry is that if we do go down it could be many years before we get back up, which would be catastrophic for this football club. Everyone has the right to be concerned, some aren’t as confident as you that all will be hunky dory come the end of the season. Particularly if we do go down.
