Don’t know about the keeper being too small, the defence was too slow!!
WHS.

First time of being worried this pre season, a very poor Rhyl side controlled the game and found so many holes in the Witton defence, any other team would have had a field day in front of goal.
I know it’s still pre season and we are still being experimental but we aren’t seeing anything different.

Positive note, Foley looked very controlled today best player on the pitch

Overall pretty disappointing keeper out of position, centre backs cut open easily and not our usual high tempo pressing game let RHyl play, Foley did OK in patches but gave the ball away cheaply several times, Ryan still not sure on him, today we were missing Devine, Heywood and Evans ! And Hopley first half so trialists given another chance but none really impressed ! our squad is still too thin of the quality required ! meaning we miss our good players too much. I had hoped with two weeks to go to see our best 11 out today but heyho, let’s hope in the weeks left we can add some quality that we need. UTA

Personally, I saw enough to be quietly confident. Our strikers and attacking midfielders look excellent and in other departments, we have our best to come back in. As for the keeper, I did not fault him for any of the goals, the central defenders were at fault and an “acting” full back.
WHS.

Whilst the defence wasn’t great on a few occasions do you think the keepers position for the first goal was good ? Because we all felt he was way too advanced and left acres for the attacker to lob him and it is perhaps his biggest weakness - he gets chipped and lobbed far to easily ! exactly like at Shaw Lane, he should work on his position it might help him.

The defenders had been left for dead, he had no option than to come off his line, that he was lobbed is not the issue. I notice you make no mention of several good saves and some great takes in the air? And his save late on was simply superb. It would be nice to have a great shot-stopper who is great in the air but sadly they only exist in the Football League and higher. For me, and it appears the manager, he is an okay goalkeeper. Are there better about and available? I have no idea.
WHS.

No point in repeating but we had one in Roberts and it’s the last post from me on the keeper, Roberts has not gone to another club ! The trouble yesterday was that he was 30 mt of his line already and then came forward making it so easy for the striker who still had a defender on him so 5-10 mt of his line ! he could still possibly make a save once lobbed he had no chance. I never said he wasn’t a good shot stopper and is probably a great lad but being a keeper needs more than that I’m Afraid to say. UTA

Keith Mason is not available either! I agree, let’s just leave it to the manager and hope he is right about Hare.
WHS.

Difficult to criticise Carl at all other than for his choice of keeper. Hare is too small and will cost us a lot of games. However, whatever fans say Carl has his own ideas and will do what he feels is best for the team.

I just hope he turns out his best eleven in the last two friendlies, then we will have a real idea of how good the team is. In my opinion, which doesn’t mean much, I think we have a squad to challenge for the title. I keep asking, but no one seems to know, just how tall is Hare?
WHS.

According to one website he is 23 and 6ft !!! I’d give him 5ft 11 lol ! it might be correct but even 6ft isn’t big for a keeper today at a decent level, but let’s see how it goes UTA
