That’s an awful result in front an awfully poor attendance. Top of the league this morning and the town can’t find 300 interested people? What chance does the club have? Much respect to those hardy souls were there…

Off colour game for the lads, Rushall played quite well but we were disjointed and could not get it together, midfield was very poor and defence went long way too many times - ineffectively. Definitely missed Jones workrate today. Good news to hear Tom Owens back and when we get Jones, Devine and Owens back in contention we will have a half decent squad. UTA

I think we have to come to terms with the fact that this is a much tougher league than last season and a good finish for us is top half with maybe a chance of the playoffs. A lot of money about and gates much higher than ours make winning regularly a difficult proposition. Best of luck lads at Lancaster and see you all next Saturday.

I agree with CJ the 3 players named there will be missed in any squad . Let’s hope we get them all up and running soon because I think we have a strong enough squad to challenge again for at least a play off place . Today was just one you take on the chin . Move on

Do you have any suggestions as to how the club can increase home attendances Chris? We advertise the club in the local press, on social media, in the new Wittoner Bulletin and we even offer free transport to home games from town.

Interest in local non league football is on the decline throughout the land, it is far easier for football fans and their families to associate themselves to a Premier League club and press the tv remote control in the comfort of their own home rather than venturing to the likes of Wincham Park on a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon or Tuesday evening. Furthermore we are also up against the fact that there are a dozen or so Premier League/Championship clubs within very close proximity to boot.

The circa 300 hardcore Wittoners are always there and always will be. I’m sure the club would welcome any suggestions you have to improve gates though. UTA

its a shame because the Pics came with a great attitude and deserved some of the spoils,we weren’t firing on all cylinders and that is sometimes how it is,the opposition played their part in making this a good game our two subs made a huge impact and we nearly got something on an off day, whats more upsetting is the pathetic crowd, the beautiful stadium/playing surface blood and guts of players and volunteers and the players still keep ultra professional and in front of bugger all

Ditto my response to Chris.

How do you propose getting more people through the gate? The club are all ears to your suggestions…

I have massive respect for our club, board, players, volunteers and everyone else associated with WAFC and always will do. But you can not force people to watch their local football club if they are not interested in doing so.

The other problem is nowadays, football gets wall - to - wall coverage on television. It’s impossible to find a day now where there isn’t a game televised.

We do very well to get the attendances we do imvh. Would love to know what the 4K “wittoners” that came to Wembley with us do nowadays. Prob watching city or Chelsea on sky

Just cancelled my Sky Sports subscription, £27.50 a month and most of it spent on over-paid foreigner footballers playing mediocre football. For every Aguero, there are half a dozen foreign players no better than British born players. I only watch Rugby and Cricket anyway and Sky have lost out to BT with those sports. See you all on Saturday.
WHS.

Wish a few more would do the same - it might improve our gates. Mainly though, people watch live games on a Saturday through foreign channels instead of supporting their local team/s

I think there is a trend developing in the games that we lose. Each time the team has been reshuffled to cover the absence of a player, with perhaps 2 or 3 changes rather than a 1 for 1 change. There’s no doubt that when we have our first pick team, all playing in their true positions we are as good as anyone, but it doesn’t take much to upset the balance of the team. I am sure CM is working on it and we have reasons to be optimistic. Its all part of the learning !
