Witton Albion vs Scarborough Athletic.

There is a pitch inspection scheduled for 8am on Saturday morning.

If anyone has any free time in the morning, the Groundstaff would appreciate any assistance in getting the pitch ready for the game.

here comes the forecast rain, think it will be touch and go - given how soft it was yesterday !

Really hope this game is on we will make a killing as Scarborough are laying on Free travel to fans who attended the last 2 home games and only a £5 coach fare for those that haven’t!
Noels also done a great job informing Scarborough about the great food and beers on offer in the Social Club and we believe 3 Coaches are heading over tomorrow!
Not only that but were on a bit of a roll on the pitch where as Scarborough are really struggling right now so a great time to play them.

might have to do a bit then if its on

Where have 3 coaches been mentioned as official communication didn’t say that many

I’m afraid once again I can’t take any credit here. Thatched tavern has carried out the press release To Scarborough and it’s helen who makes it work. Helen deserves special mention as she has done what everyone said can’t be done. With minimal equipment, by the way.

I am merely the puppeteer. The credit must go to everyone who does the work.

Fingers crossed that the clubs excellent groundsmen can work their magic. Special mention to all the spruces who got last Saturday on despite the rain.

Witton will be hoping to take their recent Cup form into the League and looking to climb up the table against visitors who themselves, have found things difficult so far this season. Thats the information Big Gaz told me and he got it from their forum i believe

MATCH POSTPONED - Due to a Waterlogged Pitch.

Despite this afternoon’s match being postponed, the Social Club will be open.

Massive financial blow to the club today with the game being called off.

I’m afraid that’s what happens when you agree to groundshare. No problems with that decision but with vics playing on Wednesday the pitch simply didn’t have enough time to recover. Could be worse in we didn’t have a groundshare and had no income at all.

I know what you are saying Johno and yes the pitch needed a lot of work after Wednesdays game, but in truth it was the sheer quantity of rain that caused the issue on the pitch, it could not drain it away quickly enough, what we need to do is to allow sufficient funds from the rent money to be spent on the pitch in the summer mainly to improve further the drainage which is getting better each year due to the hard work put in by the Ground staff - Me I would put the rent up next year to allow work to be done on the pitch !
