Witton look to follow up last Saturday’s excellent result against Basford United when they welcome Scarborough Athletic to Wincham Park in a Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture on Saturday afternoon.
The Yorkshire club have begun the season in good form, taking seven points from their opening three league games which have all been played away from home and have yet to concede a goal.
Their playing squad looks different from last season with some high profile players having moved on, most notably goalkeeper Tommy Taylor and prolific striker James Walshaw.
Albion confirmed the departure of Cesaire Lingouba to Matlock Town earlier this week. In midfield, loanee Regan Griffiths is likely to continue after an impressive debut last weekend following his move to Wincham Park from Crewe Alexandra.
Forward James Hooper made his first league appearance off the bench last week against Basford United and he will be looking to continue his return from injury this week.
Last season saw Witton take four points from the two league meetings, a goalless draw at the Flamingoland Stadium early in the campaign but the return at Wincham Park saw Albion run out 3-1 winners with goals from Billy Smart, Will Jones & an Adam Anson penalty with the aforementioned James Walshaw netting Scarborough’s consolation.
The two sides are separated by only one point so the game is crucial to both sides, as they look to get closer to leaders Warrington Town.
Kick Off at Wincham Park is 3pm.
