Witton Albion vs South Shields (FAC1Q).

MATCHDAY ARRANGEMENTS - 2/9/17.

For this coming Saturday’s Emirates F.A. Cup 1st Qualifying Round tie against South Shields, upon seeking advice, the club has introduced total segregation.

All home supporters should therefore enter the stadium, through the turnstiles, at the Wincham End of the ground.

Away supporters thus to use the turnstiles at the Lostock (Main Car Park) End.

Please note that cup ties are all to pay at the gate. Season tickets etc not being valid.

The Social Club will be open to all, both before and following the match, but no alcohol will be allowed to be brought onto the ground. All drinks inside the Social Club will be served in plastic beakers.

Both tea bars in the stadium will be open, to cater for both sets of supporters.

Your co-operation in helping the club ensure what is potentially a mouth-watering cup-tie runs smoothly is much appreciated.

Big match, wish I could be there. Good luck lads.

A crucial game for our finances and our confidence. Come on lads, you can do it!!

Really looking forward to this game. South Shields are flying in the Evostick Div 1 so we need to put in 100% to get through this tie.

Lots of away fans coming so should be a great atmosphere and read some really positive stuff about the brilliant Shields supporter’s from Scarborough fans after the game there on Monday.

I know a few fans of both clubs are annoyed at the segregation issue especially as both sets of fans are able to drink in the Social Club together right up to kick off but im sure the Shields fans will go home and have nothing but praise for the friendliness of Witton Albion just as Altrincham supporters mentioned on their forum, nice to read some great comments on our club after Mondays game.

I will be in the dj booth from 1pm and will be selling satchets of mint sauce for those who want to liven up their pie and peas

Should be a great game - just a reminder, the free bus from Brio + Chimes & return will run as normal, but any offers into the stadium don’t apply as per FA rules.

Witton begin their Emirates FA Cup campaign on Saturday, as they welcome Northern League Champions and current Buildbase FA Vase holders South Shields to The NetDec Stadium. The Mariners enjoyed a very successful season last time out as they ended the campaign with four trophies in the cabinet. They have begun their first season in the Evo-Stik League North in fine form, winning all of theIr league games to date and reached this stage of the Emirates FA Challenge Cup by defeating Bridlington Town in the Preliminary Round. The two clubs have met once before in the competition, back in the 1998/99 season when Witton returned home from the North-East with a 2-0 success, on their way to the Third Qualifying Round. Witton have had a good start to the season despite the setback on Bank Holiday Monday against Altrincham but, the league takes second place this weekend as they face a very tough challenge but one they are capable of meeting. There is also the financial incentive of the fixture and the opportunity to progress further in the competition. Kick off at The NetDec Stadium is 3pm.

That fixture also depends on the outcome of Marine’s Emirates FA Cup tie on Saturday.

Important game for us. A good run in the cup will set us us up nicely financially, and this set of players are capable of exceeding their fine efforts in the cup last season. So come on boys do us fans proud again. UTA

I just hope Devine and Tames are fit and we go 3-5-2 with team as :

Hare
Wilson, Brown, Ryan
Gardner, Foley, Williams, Hedley, Devine
Hopley, Tames

with Williams sitting in front of the defence letting Foley and Hedley do the work box to box.
Will be a proper tough game and we will have to be on our game UTA

Rob Hopley is unavailable and Loanee Ben Hedley, has not been given permission by his club to play.

Good job we have wheels to let us know what is going on. I didn’t see that one coming with hopley not being available. I worry that we are not scoring goals at the moment and feel the team is significantly weaker without brads goals and Tom Owens guile in midfield. We are definitely weaker and need 2 or 3 quality signings asap

A tough task just a whole lot harder for us !

Have faith. 2-1 to Witton!!

Will be watching avidly her in Abu Dhabi, “Come on the Albs.”
