Witton commemorate the 10th annual NON LEAGUE DAY, when they welcome league leaders South Shields to Wincham Park in a Northern Premier League fixture. Albion go into the game off the back of two away draws against Bamber Bridge and Stafford Rangers but have now gone six games without a win. The Mariners arrive at Wincham Park in excellent form have lost just once so far this season and having dropped only five points. Surprisingly, their only defeat has come at Mariners Park so the magnitude of the test facing Witton today is a rather demanding one. That aside, every team has an off day and Witton are more than capable of beating anyone if they are on form and that bit of luck, which everyone needs just happens to fall our way. Even at this stage, it’s difficult to see how anyone is going to stop the Mariners from winning the league but it’s eleven against eleven on the day and anything is possible. The current league table has a rather interesting look about it at present and Second-placed Mickleover Sports have already visited Wincham Park and gone home empty-handed. Mariners supporters will make for an excellent atmosphere and hopefully, the game will be fitting of the occasion. Kick off at Wincham Park is 3pm.
