Witton Albion vs Southport (PSF).

Witton Albion play their first pre-season friendly of the summer when National League North side Southport visit Wincham Park on Tuesday evening.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 guidelines, the fixture will be played behind closed doors with no supporters allowed access in to the ground.

Albion have strengthened their squad during the extended off-season, with full-back Isaac Baldwin, midfielder Josh Gregory and forwards Steven Tames and Scott Bakkor added to the ranks.

A number of last season’s squad have also signed up once more for the new season and they should all play their part in this friendly.

Southport have a familiar face in the form of former Witton defender Adam Anson in their ranks.

The Sandgrounders were in action last weekend, falling to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of EFL League One side Blackpool.

Their squad featured a number of trialists, and it is likely that both teams will have a few unfamiliar faces involved as they take a look at players ahead of the new season.

As mentioned previously, spectators are unfortunately not allowed in the stadium for this fixture, but we will provide extensive matchday coverage via the club’s social media platforms; Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube; and right here on the website.
