Witton Albion vs Stafford Rangers.

Witton Albion are back on home ground on Saturday afternoon as they take on Stafford Rangers in the BetVictor Northern Premier League at Wincham Park.

Albion were twice on the road last week, against each of the division’s top two sides, picking up an excellent win at leaders South Shields but just unable to replicate that result and suffering a narrow defeat to second-placed Basford United on Monday evening.

Those results last week lifted Witton into 7th position in the standings, and within six points of the top five.

Stafford have endured a tough campaign so far, stuck eight points adrift at the bottom of the table with 16 points from their 24 matches.

Adam Anson has agreed to join National League North side Southport, but will remain at Witton until the end of February on loan from the Sandgrounders, so is available for selection.

Kick-off at Wincham Park is at 3:00pm.

Hopefully we will get the 3 points, which I expect us to do, to take us up the league. While we still have Adam with us I would like to see us play 3 at the back with the full backs getting forward to give the strikers more service.

I dont mind 3 at the back with the right players but not sure we have them, so still 4 4 2 for me and I would always leave one up front as an outlet or a threat on the break so I’d go

Looking forward to the game UTA
