Witton Albion vs Stalybridge Celtic.

Witton look to put Tuesday’s FA Cup disappointment behind them on Saturday afternoon when they host Stalybridge Celtic in a Northern Premier League fixture. Celtic arrive at Wincham Park currently in twelfth position in the table, two places below Albion, a point worse off from two games more. Their current form hasn’t been good in recent weeks having lost three of their last four games in all competitions, a run which was halted by victory against Grantham Town in midweek. Witton have made Wincham Park something of a fortress as regards league games, winning all three home games without conceding a goal so far and that has been testament to the impressive form of the defence in front of an outstanding goalkeeper in Chris Renshaw. Stalybridge pose a different threat and have leading goalscorer Craig Hobson, who has already netted six times this season, so he will need to be watched closely. There is also the possibility of the return of two well-known facesat Wincham Park with former Witton striker Scott Bakkor and midfielder Nathan Valentine amongst the Celtic ranks and they will be wanting to put one over their former employers. The lack of goals is an obvious concern for the Albion management team but they will be working to address that problem but whilst the team are not conceding goals, there’s always a chance but can the team take them. Three points would be a boost for the team and would help them climb the table and with games in hand so, they will be looking to begin that charge from this game onwards. Kick off at Wincham Park is 3pm.
