Witton Albion vs Stamford Sat 27th Feb

We welcome Stamford next - looking forward to going to cheer on my team to hopefully a win but it does’nt matter if we don’t it is the taking part that counts. I am sure all the players, officials and supporters of both teams will enjoy the occasion in an exemplary sporting manner.

Up the Albion

Eli, you are NUTS!!! Winning is ALL that matters don’t you know that? The “Corinthian Spirit” died long ago, mores the pity.
WHS

If we WIN in an exemplary sporting manner that’d do me COME ON ALBIOOOOOOON!!

Let’s hope that playing The Daniels doesn’t cast a pall.
A win would be magic!

Eli, you sarcastic old git!!

Sadly I cannot make it this week as I am flying out to Cyprus on Saturday morning to help out a mate, a bind, but someone has to do it. The temperature is in the high sixties, I don’t think I will cope with the heat!! Then I am off to Paris for two weeks in March to visit mty grandson; and finally I am spending the last week in April and most of May in Mallorca, it’s a hard life being retired. I will make a small donation to the club as usual as a penance for my non attendance.

You lucky bugger WHS,just think of all the water that will have flowed under the bridge upon your return.By late May we will have parted company with the manager, gained promotion via the play-offs,and watched the vast majority of the squad leave to play for the departed manager elsewhere.

You must be a Tory ( or New Labour ) with all that money to go globetrotting WHS ?

Eli, you don’t have to be a Tory to have a few bob, or a supporter of New Labour. I was given the chance to invest in the company I worked for and rather than spend my pay rises that’s what I did. I thought of the future, planned for it and now it is here. That’s what Witton must do, plan for the future, be careful with the cash and in the end they will be successful without “stealing” money off gullible people, unlike V…s who NEVER pay their debts and will go bust sooner rather than later.
WHS.

Mario, I doubt any of what you said will actually come to fruition except going up via the play offs. (I hope).
WHS.

Bloody hell, Judith Chalmers and Martin Lewis rolled into one.
What about the Stamford game?

You won’t be needing a lift then WHS? lol

What’s happened to the “we will win this league” talk of just a few weeks ago?

Anyway, back to the pre-match chat of the Stamford game. A must win game (as indeed all must now be considered to stand any chance of going up.)

I’m guessing that Paul Henry is suspended for this one, so let’s hope that Pritch is back alongside Ruffer, meaning Broadhead can move back into midfield.

Let’s hope the referee doesn’t award us any penalties, as on recent form we will miss them.

It would be interesting to work out that if we had actually scored all those (missed/saved) penalties where we would be. Difficult though as the impact on the rest of the game (last two games in particular, just imagine two wins and all would be so different!) is difficult to judge!

“If ifs and buts were pots and pans my Auntie would be my Uncle”. I have always believed the club is cursed, which other club has missed out on promotion by one goal twice in just afew seasons? Which Club has had a player sent off for “Dropping” a streaker in a Cup Final? And which Club has missed so many penalties in one season? I believe our luck will change and we will go by the name of “Jammy Witton” but not in my lifetime!!
WHS.

I have not seen anything on the official website, but there appeared to be several new faces at training last night. Also Dylan Adams was there.
