Didn’t do my “Man Flu” much good last night but though we did not play well the effort was there for all to see. Spent today in bed and going back to my “pit” now hoping to be fit for Saturday. ONWARD AND UPWARDS. :clap :clap :clap
I don’t think we should underestimate the strain put on players at our level. Two games a week is a hard task, especially the effort put in on an artificial surface away from home the previous weekend. It appears there were a few injuries around too, so I think we should accept that these results will happen. I must admit to looking at midweek fixtures with a bit of trepidation depending on who and how we played the previous Saturday. Now I know SPS played Saturday as well, and you may say that it’s the same for both teams, but judging by reports our away game was particularly tough, on an unnatural surface and possibly not reflected in the full-time score.
I wonder if the management team look at the week’s fixtures and project say 4 points from the 2 games? In which case, not a bad week.
Onwards and upwards - we’re still very much on the mix. UTA!
Carl Macauley, has actually commented on the Guardian website that he was looking for a minimum of four points from those two games. So in that respect we achieved what we set out to do.
