An utterly awful display, every player should be ashamed of an absolutely pathetic performance. There was zero effort put in by most of the players, and if this is the best that sully can get out of the players in a critical match then all i can say is bye bye sully, you just are not up to the job. I have been reluctant to criticise sully previously for the sake of supporting Witton, but i cannot keep quiet any longer. He is way out of his depth and should not be allowed to remain as Witton manager. If he stays here next season it will be a disaster and we WIIL be relegated, he is not good enough.
Having followed The Albion for almost 50 years I have seen some pretty awful displays, also seen some memorable and inspirational performances. However today takes the biscuit, no effort from the majority of the players, no desire, no passion, no commitment and no idea whatsoever from the manager about tactics.
The season has been diabolical, poor football accompanied by even poorer excuses from the management and the board.
A question, are we a football club who live and die by our results ? or are we a failing commercial social club used as a vehicle for others to gain a higher profile, budget management at its most ludicrous.
On field success breeds success off the field, off field pantomines breed a pantomine on the pitch, WAKE UP WITTON !!
Beaten better teams than that. Even came from behind to beat a much better Rushall.
Yesterday was more lack of player effort than tactical issues in my opinion. However everyone has a right to be annoyed but it is who at that the question is.
2 defeats in 11. 1 of those where we were by far the better team. Not sure the reaction is justified against a management team who have shown they can change it when needed.
Sully’s post match interview which is now available via Andy Simpson says a lot about yesterday. It’s up to the lads now to put it right tomorrow.
Yesterday was an off day, all teams have them even Barcelona! Whitby are a decent side and i know that a lot of FC United fans who witnessed the 4-0 win in midweek were saying that Whitby looked the better side until they got 2 goals in the space of a minute just before half time.
I got annoyed at some of the stuff being shouted yesterday, im sure some fans only go to have a moan because from the very first minute there was shouts of ‘Bloody rubbish Witton’ ‘Sort it out Sully’ and best of all ‘come and stand with us’ to Joe Shaw, thats really gonna get the best out of a player isnt it?
As for the Sully must go comments ive read i think a few people need to give their heads a wobble! We were poor yesterday but our form since January would put us near the top of the league, if we win tomorrow this forum will have around 6-8 comments on the game yet give the moaners a defeat and there will be 15-20 comments moaning about everything from Sullys tactics to global warming!
On a site called Nonleaguezone the rest of the NPL call us Whingers Albion as they feel Wittoners moan about everything, im beggining to understand why they feel that way now.
Anyway on to tomorrow and hopefully yesterday’s performance will be forgotten with a great stuffing of the Dabbers
