Witton Albion vs Whitby Town.

Witton’s Northern Premier League campaign finally gets underway on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Whitby Town to Wincham Park. Pre season has been challenging but also encouraging in terms of performances and results and the management team have been busy assembling a squad that has a strong mixture of experience and younger players and have shown glimpses of their potential during the close season. The return to Wincham Park of Scott Bakkor, James Hooper & Steven Tames shows an attacking intent whilst the arrival of experienced defender Steve McNulty can only help our younger players. The brief appearance of Rob Hopley in midweek after more than a year out, is like having a new signing and will hopefully give everyone cause for optimism ahead of the new season. Players have moved on such as Kyle Sambor, Cesaire Lingouba and goalkeeper Ryan Neild and we thank them for their endeavours whilst at the club but we also wish them well for the future with their respective new clubs. The Seasiders will no doubt provide Witton with a difficult test as they have done in previous encounters but Albion will be looking to get the new season off to a positive start. Kick Off at Wincham Park is 3pm.
