This was as close a game as the score suggests, with Winsford giving it a right go. There were a few moments when we played like a team from a higher league, but they weren’t overwhelming by any means. A good moment and movement for our goal and yes we could have had more but Winsford played really well and deserve a lot of credit for making this game a very enjoyable final.
Good to finish with some silverware this season and a fitting end to what seems a long campaign, Hope everyone enjoys the summer but if you should feel bored and missing the sight of Wincham park, the groundstaff will be only too please to see you !!
Tremendous turnout tonight as well.
Have to agree with Knutsfordian Winsford were terrific and had us under considerable pressure for much of the game. Ryan Neild made two terrific saves including one right at the end and we hung on!
Yes a good win without playing well at all, Winsford played hard but without any real quality up front which cost them the match. It looked like our lads were in close season mode tbh so it was a relief to win the cup in the end and now We can look forward to next season. UTA
