Disappointed with the result today but not a lot seems to have changed. Marine & Trafford both lost, Nantwich got a point at Stamford’s new stadium. Blyth and Belper were both victims of the weather.

A poor game of football Workington deserved to win overall, thought Gards and the second half cameo from Clarke were the only ones who played anything like, the strikers were not much of a threat but had pretty poor service, the midfield were not a unit at all and sat on our defenders letting Workinton pick up the loose balls and frustratingly across the team we gave the ball away at will, the only consolation is we played poorly but only lost 2-1 still no points on the board ! Pitch was heavy and may have caused some issues, keeper looked injured again and I thought he could have done better with both goals although the winner was a decent enough strike and for both goals we could have cleared the danger but didn’t ! Put it down to a bad day at the office.

The down side of the new formation is it leaves us more reliant on long balls and we have to take a higher percentage of chances than today or it’s pretty one-dimensional and we’re going to struggle. I thought the front 2 were pretty poor today, unlike last week. Midfield was pretty non-existent. too many poor performances all round. Next week looks difficult so we must win on Boxing Day.

Although we were second best really we still could have got something from the game today. Their keeper made a superb save from Jamie Rainford’s curling shot and another one late on to tip away a goal-bound effort! Both of their goals came from free kicks that certainly WERE NOT, the second one in the second half Jamie Henders chased back and won the ball with a perfectly fair and legitimate tackle! I thought Luke Clark did really well when he came on with several superb and accurate (others take note) passes, he did have a bit of a rush of blood with a shot from the left though, but I was impressed with him). It’s going to be tough but I am beginning to think we could possibly stay up, and that would be a triumph from where we were a few weeks ago!! COME ON THE ALBIOOOOON!!

How bad is Titch’s injury because we really missed him yesterday.
WHS.

Agree with that Henders and Rainford don’t somehow look a pair and for two big lads they win nothing in the air ! Titch makes different runs and I think complements one of the other two I’m not sure which one just yet ! neither has really won me over but they may do in time.

Preferred the number 9, just.

i thought henders and Rainford had a great first half. Two great front pairing , both dropping off deep and causing Workingtons defence countless problems, very cute front two and lets cut them some slack, they can both form a parternership above this level and both were a constain threat in the first half.

Second half Workington slowly shut the game down on the back of conference north tactics, they will make the playoffs but our game is in good hands and like we know Tony and his team will guide us to safety with games to spare
