Witton Albion Women play their first Pre Season Friendly on Wednesday night as they welcome Bootle Women to the U Lock It Stadium.
Their scheduled game at Wirral Phoenix was cancelled due to player availability.
Witton go into the game with a new management team in place with last season’s Coach Paul Done now taking over from Dean Meadows who has stepped aside.
New Coach Steven Hammill has joined the club following a playing career which saw him play at Everton, Bolton Wanderers and Crewe Alexandra.
A number of last season’s title-winning squad have stepped away from the club, including golden boot winner Aimee Gibson.
Some of that successful squad have signed on again for the coming season including Jennifer Thompson, Kat Hulme, Ellie Wadsworth, Michaela Thompson and Mia Shepherd who is now back in the fold following injury which curtailed her season.
New additions are likely and some of the younger ones have the opportunity to step up and take the team forward, as the prepare for their first season in the Premier Division.
Bootle will provide a tough test for Witton but they will relish the challenge and look to impose themselves on the opposition.
Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 7.15pm.
